Saving The Hungry is a not-for-profit that hosts short-term, international, volunteer vacations for working professionals.

We bring North Americans together to use their skills to make an impact in the lives of people in Africa, Central America and Asia.

Tourism in developing countries is one of the strongest drivers of world trade and prosperityOur approach combines volunteering with travel to engage and reach local communities to address their needs and create new opportunities otherwise not accessible to them.

By volunteering in some of the poorest slums in the world you create change where it is desperately needed.

After you have completed your project, our local guides will take you on a travel-adventure immersing you into the culture and local traditions.

We encourage families and single adults of all ages to experience vacationing in a new and meaningful way.

“Living in North American our worries seem trivial.  We have never had to worry about where our next meal  comes from or shelter from the hot sun, rain or rodents.

I will be forever grateful for the opportunity to share this enlightening experience with a group of amazing women and  will continue to look for ways to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate both in my community and aboard”.

“It was so difficult to witness that level of poverty and desperation.  But overall, we were far more rewarded than we could have ever imagined.  No words can express my gratefulness to Saving The Hungry for giving me the opportunity to participate in this journey.
I would highly encourage anyone to go if you have the chance – just be prepared to change lives including your own.”

“There is so much that we brought home from the 12-day trip, it would be hard to write in a few simple words how profoundly it affected us.   It was the most fulfilling experience of our lives, and we are already signed up for our next trip! “

“I was impacted by the beauty and the poverty of the country. I knew I was coming to help do my bit to alleviate the suffering by building a home for a lady with 2 small children sustaining her family by sifting through garbage.  It was life changing and I am eagerly anticipating my next trip to Thailand.”
